Change

It is safe to say that the only constant in life is change. Regardless of you place in life, life is always in flux. No one is immune from this reality, especially not me. As most of you know, 2011 has already been a year filled with many changes for Olsa and me. At the beginning of March I assumed the role of pulpit minister at Central Pike. I have been blessed to work with this congregation for the past 11 years. Up until the end of February I had the awesome responsibility of caring for and teaching the youth of this congregation. In March God placed the opportunity to become the preacher here in front of me. I willing took up this role and am very much so enjoying myself.

As with any new position there has been a tremendous learning curve. I have in no way mastered the ins and outs of this new position in just 3 months, and the reality is that I hope I never fully master it either. That way I always maintain my humility and understanding of who is truly at work in me. This move by itself is tremendous amount of change, and perhaps enough for one year, but not for us.

In March Olsa and I discovered she was pregnant. We have been (sometimes) patiently waiting for this child for about five years. God is good! I have full grasp on the fact that my life is indeed about to change significantly. But as with the change of position at church, I welcome the level of craziness that is about to hit us. Does it mean more stress? Yes! Does it mean more late nights? Yes! Will it be worth it? Without a doubt! Pray for us as we eagerly await October 20th!
