I know that as 2011 dawned that I promised weekly posts here at my blog. I apologize for not following through with that. Life is crazy right now and will only get more so once March arrives. It is early Thursday morning. I would normal not be up now, but my beloved dog decided to wake us up at 5 a.m. So I got up with him and have been up since then. The crazy thing is that I will not be going anywhere for a while this morning because of the snowy weather. Normally Jake would find himself outside, but the weather people on channel 2 just mentioned that it is 11 degrees outside so he could not stay out. So here I am, updating my blog.
As Olsa and I sat in our warm house last evening watching the coverage of what turned into a 3 or 4 hour commute for some it reminded me of the snow storm back in January of 2003 that we got caught out in. I was working in LaVergne and she was interning at Agape which is located down near Harding road and I-65. The snow started falling at around 9:30 that morning, I left work to pick her up at 10 a.m. We walked in the door of our apartment at around 8 p.m. It was a tough event, we spent several hours just sitting in traffic on Briley Parkway.
As I watched the news last night I could not help but feel really bad for those stuck out in it. But it was one of those situations where there was not much advice to give. It was just a bad situation and it just had to be waded through. Often life is just like that. Sometimes life happens and no amount of advice can help. The only thing that can help is prayer and peace from God. I hope that you got home safe last night if you live in the middle Tennessee, and if you were stuck in traffic I hope it was not too bad.
