Milestones

Well VBS is over and I think that everyone is getting caught back up on their rest. I do so appreciate all the hard work that went into last week. I achieved a major milestone last week in my recovery. I went to my last physical therapy appointment on Thursday. This week seems kind of odd because I have been going over to Vanderbilt for rehab at least once a week since Monday July 27th, 2009. I will now have 4 to 6 hours each week extra.

I would like to tell you that I am back to 100% but I am not. I am far enough along that my doctors feel like I can do the rest on my own. Next week I will return to camp. I have been back at least twice since the accident. The first time I went back, about a month ago, I stood and looked at the tree. I was amazed at how much of it remains in the edge of the woods. I was also amazed at just how big it really is...This year at camp I will be extra careful. No wandering around during storms or entering campers during storms. I am scheduled to speak again Monday night. Last year the accident happened just before I was going to speak. Tuesday night will be the actual anniversary of the accident.

I covet your prayers for the upcoming week. For all the kids and all the staff. Also pray for my wife, this past year has been harder on her than me and as camp approaches it is tough for her.

Hey Joshua, it's been a while. Just wanted to say hello. I see you're reading the new Peterson book; I'm reading it as well. I'm about halfway through; it's really good so far. Blessings to you!
